Taking inspiration from the groundbreaking innovations of French knife maker Fred Perrin, Spyderco founder Sal Glesser designed the Swick as a purpose built personal-defense tool. The Perrin inspired index finger hole is the most iconic feature and locks the knife into the userβs hand for superior security in the hand. The Large Swick 5 is sized for a large hand with a 26 mm diameter hole, black G10 scales and stonewashed, fully SpyderEdge serrated LC200N Wharncliffe blade.
Brand new, direct from Spyderco.
Blade:Β With just under 2.5 inches of full SpyderEdge serrations, the fully flat ground LC200N Wharncliffe blade offers powerful performance, delivering force from tip to heel. SpyderEdge serrations make short work of tough material with up to 24% more cutting surface. The negative blade angle, thumb scoop and rock solid pistol grip help to deliver even more leverage for powerful slicing with a more neutral wrist position for reduced fatigue in utility work. A heavy stonewashed finish hides wear from use.
Handle:Β The full tang construction supports peel-ply textured, black G10 handle scales that pair with the 26 mm diameter hole for an exceptional secure pistol-style grip and fast draw under stress. A jimped thumb scoop offers added traction while the pointed, exposed pommel end can be used as an impact tool and is milled with a hole for lanyard attachment.
Sheath: Carries via a secure, molded Boltaron sheath equipped with G-Clip and breakaway ball chain.
LC200N: LC200N (A.K.A. Cronidur 30 or Z-FiNit) is a high nitrogen alloy steel produced using PESR (pressurized electro-slag remelting) technology, delivering a pure steel with fine microstructure. Used by NASA for ball bearings, LC200N offers excellent corrosion resistance, toughness, and ease of sharpening for knife blades with edge retention better than other steels with comparable qualities (similar to Nitro-V, 14C28N).
